Support the China at CUNY Initiative – serve as a CACI Faculty Fellow
We are seeking China-knowledgeable faculty within CUNY to join our China at CUNY Initiative (CACI). The overarching goal of CACI is to promote the integration of the study of China into the curriculum across the CUNY system. For more information, see here
In the next phase of the program, starting in Fall 2024, we will pilot a CACI Graduate Student Teaching Fellowship that we expect to roll out on a larger scale in Spring 2025. The Initiative is supported by the Henry Luce Foundation.
We will support CUNY graduate students who are teaching in the CUNY undergraduate colleges to develop China-related content to include in courses in history and the social sciences. We will adopt a mentorship model, in which faculty with China expertise (CACI Faculty Fellows) will support CACI Teaching Fellows by 1) helping them to select teaching materials, 2) teaching or co-teaching one class session for them, and 3) participating in a seminar discussion about teaching China content.
We will offer Faculty Fellows an honorarium of $1,000.
Faculty Fellows will be matched with Teaching Fellows in early January 2024, and work with them in January to select teaching materials for classes to be taught in the Spring 2024.
