CACI Faculty Fellowship 2026-2027

This Faculty Fellowship program is the next iteration of the China at CUNY Initiative (CACI). China Initiative at CUNY (CACI) seeks applicants for its 2026-2027 Faculty Fellowship, which aims to bolster the teaching resources available in our online curricular repository and to form a cohesive faculty network that can support graduate students engaged in teaching about China at CUNY.

Faculty Fellows will work on producing two resources over the course of the academic year to be included in the CACI Teaching Resources Repository: (1) Compiling a topic guide under a given subject area that brings together readings, media, and discussion questions; (2) Supplying a syllabus from a class related to China; or (3) Creating a class activity that is suitable for undergraduate students. Faculty Fellows are encouraged to incorporate this new material related to China Studies in classes they are teaching.

Additionally, the faculty fellow will be expected to: (1) Agree to be listed on our website as part of our faculty network; (2) Mentor two fellows taking part in the CACI Seminar in the 2026-27 academic year with similar teaching interests by meeting with them at the beginning of the semester to help them select readings and brainstorm teaching activities; and (3) Attend one seminar meeting to share their research and/or teaching experience about China at CUNY.

The Faculty Fellowship includes a stipend of $1000 to be distributed upon the completion of the fellowship requirements.
